(El Korincho is located on a 200 km long, approximately east-west trending, regional geologic/metallogenic trend, a lineament characterized by several highly productive historic and active gold/silver/base metal mining districts. Districts are spaced approximately 50 KM apart along this lineament.
Goldcorp’s Peñasquito, and the historic mining area of Concepcion del Oro, are on trend to the east of Korincho.
The Camacho district is on trend to the west of Korincho. Further west on trend are the Cerro Prieto Minillas, San Jose de Reyes, and Miguel Auza districts. Santa Fe Metals is currently developing a sizeable gold/silver resource at San Jose de Reyes.
Districts along trend show similar geologic, mineralogic, and geophysical features. Such features, also characteristic of significant precious metal mines in northern Mexico and the western United States, include styles of mineralization, alteration types, breccias, aeromagnetic expression, felsic intrusives, and calcareous rocks of the Mexican Geosyncline.
